Satya brings to Darrow Associates 18 years of Wall Street (Investor Relations/Sell-Side/Buy-Side) and over 10 years of technology industry experience. His background includes a wealth of operational, financial and strategic experience.

Most recently, Satya was a Vice President of Corporate Development and Investor Relations at Aemetis, a Nasdaq-listed small cap company. His efforts for Aemetis leverage experience over several years researching and investing in various clean technology platforms in the US and India. Spanning a 7-year period, he worked at hedge funds with responsibilities for portfolio management and research. Prior to moving into a corporate role, he worked for a hedge fund with $1.8 billion in assets under management. He also consulted with many hedge funds during the financial crisis and performed research on the entire technology (hardware and software) and alternative energy sectors.

Prior to moving to the buy-side, Satya worked on the sell-side for investment banks including WR Hambrecht, RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) Capital Markets, American Technology Research and Pacific Growth Equities. During his sell-side career, Satya interacted and worked with VCs, private equity firms and investment bankers pitching ideas. In addition to raising money in the US, he was responsible for bringing in IPO deals from Singapore and Taiwan. Also, he was responsible for bringing the $500 million SanDisk follow on offering to WR Hambrecht. Satya was a publishing equity research analyst covering stocks in the areas of WLAN, UWB, WiMax, Wireless (2.5/3G/4G), Consumer technologies (NAND flash, Digital Still Camera, Camera Phone, Image Sensors, Mobile Computing), and assembly, packaging and test for semiconductors (memory, LCD, and other related areas). He was ranked #3 in the Wall Street Journal’s Survey in 2003 and frequently quoted/appeared in Barron’s, CNBC, WSJ, Investor’s Business Daily and other financial and business media.

Before moving to Wall Street, Satya spent over 10 years in the semiconductor industry, including tenures with National Semiconductor, Fujitsu, VLSI, and ChipPAC. At ChipPAC, he managed a $300 million product line with full P&L responsibility. He has excellent operational management as well strategic marketing experience.

Earning an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri and a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from S.V. University in India, Satya has published numerous technology papers and counts 11 patents to his credit. His FINRA licenses include the Series 7, 63, 86, and 87, and is a registered investment advisor (Series 65).
