Michael Wetherington

Mr. Wetherington brings 25 years of capital markets experience to Darrow Associates, primarily in equity research where he covered a range of industries both domestically and in developed global markets. Most recently, Mr. Wetherington helped lead the equity research effort for Dallas, TX-based Barrow Hanley Global Investors with approximately $100 billion in assets under management. Over his 20 years with the firm, Mr. Wetherington provided research on hundreds of companies over a broad range of industries. The bulk of his tenure was spent as the lead analyst covering utilities/power, telecommunications, aerospace/defense and transportation. He has experience with numerous business models, having written hundreds of reports and pitches for prospective portfolio investments. He gravitated to investing in companies that were undertaking some form of evolution of their business model, including roll ups, divestitures, restructurings, and other event-driven investment opportunities.

Mr. Wetherington began his corporate career with Fidelity Investments as an equity trader. There he was quickly moved to positions with increasing responsibility, eventually to a senior analyst position where he performed market analysis and contributed to business strategy development.

Mr. Wetherington earned a Bachelors of Science in Economics and Finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in September of 2000. Mr. Wetherington has been involved with the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) for over 20 years, including chairing the Stewardship and Membership committees as well as serving on numerous ad hoc committees. More recently he was Chair of the Investment Committee for the $70 million endowment and sat on the Endowment Board. He is the proud father of 12 year old boy/girl twins.
